COVID 19:
CPCA K-8 REOPENING UPDATE

Updated July 23, 2020

Dear CPCA Family,

Due to the increased number of COVID-19 cases and deaths in our county over the last month, county officials have revised their opening phase down to level 1 for now. We anticipate our city being on phase 2 of reopening at the time we are scheduled to begin our 2020-21 school year. Each phase has specific guidelines that are being developed and may change over time. We will continue to update the answers to the questions below to provide a more accurate description regarding our reopening of school next month.

Our administrative team continues to collaborate on a regular basis with local, state and national, agencies to remain informed and proactive as new information is made public. If you have any specific questions or concerns, please email us at mainoffice@coralparkchristian.org.

START DATE:

Our tentative start date is still August 24th. We continue to monitor and adhere to guidance from the CDC, our departments of health, and other experts regarding the reopening of schools. The health and safety of our community is our number one priority.

CONTINGENCIES:

In the event of another state-mandated distance learning order for all schools, we continue to prepare for any contingency to reflect any possible changes from daily On Campus Learning (OCL) to our fully Online Learning Environment (OLE).

CURRICULUM:

Students will continue to receive instruction at a pace that guarantees the completion of the curriculum content, whether on-campus or online. Innovations will be made to ensure a fun learning environment that maintains all students engaged and challenged to work to their potential.

DROP-OFF/PICK-UP AND CALENDAR EVENTS:

Drop-off and pick-up will reflect current social distancing guidelines. (For example in a Phase 2 setting, parents and visitors will not be permitted inside the school buildings to maintain a safer classroom environment). In addition, all scheduled calendar events for the 2020-21 school year, where large gatherings would be expected, would be postponed or cancelled as necessary.

SOCIAL DISTANCING:

Social distancing measures are expected to be followed by all staff and students as appropriate for grade levels. Each phase of reopening has specific guidelines that are being developed and may change over the course of the next few months. (For example, in a Phase 2 setting, classes will not be combining at any point during the day. Food will be served in our cafeteria (6 ft. apart). In a Phase 3 setting, the social distancing measures are relaxed, and time spent in groups would be minimized.)

SCREENING:

Screening measures will be implemented per updated CDC guidelines.

PERSONAL PROTECTIVE
EQUIPMENT:

Personal Protective Equipment will be available to staff and utilized as needed per CDC recommendations. After mask-wearing guidelines are lifted by local authorities, using masks will remain at the discretion of the parents and employees.

COVID 19: SYMPTOMS:

Any student exhibiting symptoms of COVID-19 will be monitored in an isolated area until student is picked-up. Parents picking up students due to illness will have a 30-minute time limit to pick up the child. We will be implementing CDC Guidelines for the appropriate measures to notify families, disinfect rooms, and when it is safe to return to school.

SANITATION:

Maintenance staff and teachers will prioritize cleaning and disinfecting frequently touched surfaces according to CDC Guidelines before, during, and after school hours. In addition, a maintenance staff member has been assigned to support the increased cleaning measures implemented by the school.
